The pace-setting global Islamic society, Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT), proudly featured its children at the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) Summer School in Ijora Olopa, Lagos. The program exposed them to practical training on waste sorting, recycling, and environmental protection, nurturing a culture of responsibility and sustainability.
President of NASFAT, Alhaji Ayodeji AbdulWahid AbdulRauf, congratulated LAWMA for its groundbreaking initiative. He applauded the agency’s dedication to raising environmentally conscious young leaders, while commending NASFAT children for their participation. According to him, such exposure aligns with NASFAT’s vision of building disciplined, innovative, and socially responsible youth.
Chief Missioner of NASFAT, Imam Maroofdeen AbdulAzeez Onike, offered prayers and admonition from the Islamic perspective. He reminded the gathering that environmental hygiene is a divine obligation, stressing that caring for the earth reflects faith and obedience to Allah. He urged the children to put lessons into daily practice.
NASFAT’s National Children Affairs Secretary, Alhaji Musilimat Leshi, emphasized that the program complemented NASFAT’s mission of developing creativity, innovation, and service to humanity. She noted that through LAWMA’s platform, NASFAT children are being equipped to contribute actively to national growth and sustainable development.
The partnership between NASFAT and LAWMA ended on a note of celebration. The children departed with renewed knowledge of recycling, waste segregation, and green initiatives. LAWMA, as the agency driving Lagos’ waste management transformation, was widely praised for blending education with public service and inspiring a cleaner, safer environment.
