The 4th edition of the NASFAT Games (NASGA 4.0) commenced in grand style at Fountain University, Osogbo, Osun State, with an energetic football match signalling the official kickoff of the week-long festival of sports, intellect, and unity.
The opening ceremony witnessed the presence of eminent personalities, including members of the NASFAT Board of Trustees (BOT), the National Executive Council (NEC), the National Council of Elders (NCOE), the Women Management Committee (WMC), Zonal Chairmen, and several other key stakeholders of the Society. Their attendance underscored the importance NASFAT attaches to youth development, talent discovery, and promoting the Deen through sports.
Declaring the Games open, the Chairman of the NASFAT Board of Trustees, Dr. Abdul Lateef Olasupo, together with Engr. Kamar Olawuyi, NASFAT Vice President 1, and Prof. Ramota Olayinka Karim, Vice Chancellor of Fountain University, performed the ceremonial kickoff.

In their goodwill remarks, they jointly commended NASFAT for using sports as a unifying platform to foster discipline, teamwork, and excellence among its members. They also emphasised that NASGA is not just about competition, but a deliberate effort to engage young people positively, promote the values of Islam, and strengthen the bonds of the Ummah.
The NASGA 4.0 Games, held under the motto “Discovering Talent and Uniting the Ummah,” will feature a wide array of sporting and intellectual activities. These include Football, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Chess, Scrabble, Athletics, and Quiz Competitions, as well as a Symposium, Exhibitions, Awards Night, and a colourful Closing Ceremony.

Speaking further the BOT Chairman, Dr. Olasupo reaffirmed NASFAT’s commitment to holistic development, stressing that the Society’s vision extends beyond spiritual growth to include physical well-being, social engagement, and leadership training for its youth, all while promoting the Deen through constructive avenues such as sports.

Delegations from NASFAT zones across Nigeria and from the diaspora, including Côte d’Ivoire, have arrived at Fountain University to compete, interact, and showcase their talents. The atmosphere is already charged with excitement, camaraderie, and anticipation as teams prepare to battle for glory in their respective categories.
