Fountain  University,  Osogbo,  Nigeria,  has  announced  the appointment of renowned legal scholar and philanthropist, Mallam  (Prof.)  Yusuf  Olaolu  Ali,  SAN,  as  the  new  Chairman of  its  Board  of  Trustees  (BoT).  The  appointment,  which took  effect  on  January  14,  2024,  follows  the  expiration  of the 10-year tenure of the pioneer BoT Chairman, Alhaji Adeyinka AbdulWaheed Adeola.

Mallam  Ali’s  appointment  was  officially  announced  at  the grand finale of the university’s 13th convocation ceremony, where he also delivered his inaugural address as the BoT Chairman. A respected figure  in  the  Nigerian  legal community,  Mallam  Ali  brings  a  wealth  of  experience  and expertise to  his  new  role.  He  is  a  Senior  Advocate  of Nigeria (SAN),  a  Professor  of  Law,  and  a  founding  partner of the law firm Yusuf Ali & Co.

In his acceptance speech, Mallam Ali  expressed  his gratitude for the opportunity to  serve  Fountain  University and  pledged  his  commitment  to  upholding  the  institution’s core values of academic excellence, community engagement,  and  ethical  leadership.  He  outlined  his  vision for  the  university’s  future,  emphasising  the  importance  of innovation, entrepreneurship, and global partnerships.

The appointment of Mallam Ali has been met with widespread approval from the university community and beyond. Many see him as the ideal person to lead Fountain  University  into the  next  phase  of  its  development.  His  proven track record of success in both the legal and academic     fields,     as     well     as     his     deep commitment   to   education   and   philanthropy, make him well-qualified for this important role.
